Mobile Sites

There is something to be said for a site that works well on the Internet and also on a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet PC. Why do we need mobile websites? Well, it depends on what you mean by 'need' but in this on-the-go world we want to be able to check our favorite sites without being tied down to one location and what better way to do so with our wireless mobile phone?

A good mobile website should have a few things: A good layout, easy to read, low bandwidth, no wasted space.

I think the best designers for websites for the standard internet still have a ways to go to design 'great' mobile sites but as long as they never give up they should be on their way!

What is it about mobile websites that makes us look for them on the web? Mobile sites are up and coming to compete with the Internet's traffic every day. More and more companies are creating mobile websites because they see the rise in demand from their customers.

It can make a big difference to a customer if they can, for example, check their bank account from their mobile phone, but that requires that their bank have a good and trustworthy mobile website for them to do it on. WAP sites are virtually the same thing as mobile sites.

With the increase of mobile devices that people are buying there are more and more Mobile Sites to choose from. One key is to add about 10 of your favorites and then just browse them when noone else is looking. Gaming sites are fun too on your phone especially when you are on break or can get away from your life. There are good lists out there so I recommend finding one and using all the links they provide. There are good mobile sites and there are great mobile sites. It is up to you to choose and go with what works.
